Animas River / Gold King Mine Wastewater Spill
Monday Night Meeting, 08/10/2015
On Monday, August 10th, San Juan County held a second public meeting regarding the recent Animas River Contamination. State and local officials provided updates to the Gold King Mine Wastewater Spill and how it continues to affect those residents livng down river. Officials were also able to answer written questions submitted by audience members.
Meetings will continue this week through Friday, 6:00pm at the Farmington Civic Center. Thank you to officials from San Juan County, and the Cities of Farmington, Aztec, and Bloomfield for their efforts in keeping the public informed and working to provide necessary resources. Also, thank you for being prepared to handle an emercency of this magnetude. A special thank you to Governor Martinez and Ryan Flynn (NM Environment Department) for bringing attention to this emergency.
