San Juan County Animas River Contamination Public Meeting
Animas River / Gold King Mine Wastewater Spill
On Saturday, August 8th, state and local officials held an informational meeting at the Farmington Civic Center regarding the Animas River contamination. The meeting was open to the public as well as to members of the media. A discussion panel comprised of representatives from San Juan County and state government, the New Mexico Environment Department, New Mexico State University Agricultural Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Navajo Nation Department of Health and the City of Farmington provided updates and then took questions form the audience.
